Goods dispatched from well known company (Lakeland) on 30th August,to be delivered in 5 days by Hermes. Goods never arrived and no card put through the door. On checking the tracked delivery number provided the goods were apparently delivered to our house (only my mother and I live there),on 7 Sept 2009 at ten past five pm and a signature obtained. The 'My Hermes' delivery lady lives round the corner from me. Once and only once did she log the 'Signed and Delivered' thing. After an evening and most of the next day trying to trace my parcel. Hermes are useless. My local Hermes courier has faked my signature and has also opened my parcels in the past. It’s very irritating that you can’t contact Hermes directly to complain or query a delivery, they tell you to raise it with the retailer you bought the item from and they’ll chase it up. If you paid for express delivery but it failed to arrive in the promised time frame, you can ask for the cost of express postage back. However, if you paid for standard delivery - or you got it.

We get about one delivery a week with Hermes, they NEVER deliver in the time slot they say - and that can be at 9pm which is a total pain esp when it has NEVER been delivered at that time. Latest yesterday they did not deliver at all because they alleged no-one was at home - a complete fantasy - we were there the whole time, the gate was open, the house door was open and even a note on the threshold to tell them we were home and to leave parcel on the threshold. Do not use them. All our mail orders will now specify 'please do not deliver with Hermes'.
